Before and after India...

March 4th, 2012 marked one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. Fourteen days in India opened all my senses in ways that are difficult to explain. The gracious chaos on the streets and highways outside New Delhi, the grandness of the Mughal Palaces, the array of vehicles, all honking, dump trucks transporting beautiful women in saris, Brahman cows eating plastic and trash, sadhus looking for enlightenment, small motor bikes transporting whole families, cars loaded with everything imaginable, monkeys everywhere looking at us with curiosity, but all flowing with the harmony. Visiting the northern holy cities of India I experienced waking up at the sound of a conch at 4:30am, then listening to chanting echoing through the hills around Haridwar. I learned about devotion, acceptance and tolerance. No judgement held. But what most struck me and has stayed carved in the fiber of my life is the concept of "being versus doing". Reason for which this blog has been vacant for the last 6 months.
